Books demo tour · Part 2 of 6

A client book, set up in one conversation.

Tell your assistant who the client is and what they do. The bot seeds the right chart of accounts from a template, imports customers and vendors from the client's exports, and connects OneDrive - so journals and support can flow through the folders your firm already uses.

Illustrative client book: Hudson & Vale CPAs, LLP keeping the books of Harborlight Community Health Center, Inc. - a fictional nonprofit community health center. Fictional firm, client, and data.

The AI path

From intake note to working book

New client: Harborlight Community Health Center, a nonprofit community health center. Grant-funded, cash and accrual reporting, about 30 staff. Set up their book.
Created the company in CPA-led mode. Seeded the nonprofit health-services chart of accounts template - 84 accounts with restricted/unrestricted net asset classes, grant income lines, and program vs. admin expense groups. Imported 62 customers and 41 vendors from the exports you dropped in. Next: connect the bank feeds and OneDrive?

The bot does the heavy lifting

  • Seeds the chart of accounts from entity-matched templates (books_gl_seed_chart_of_accounts) - nonprofit, for-profit, or professional practice.
  • Imports customers, vendors, and opening data from the client's exports through the import templates.
  • Proposes new accounts when the client's activity needs one - it never silently invents structure.

You stay in control

  • You pick the template and confirm the seeded chart before anything posts.
  • The same setup screens exist in the app - the bot and the UI share one backend.
  • Business mode or CPA-led mode is your call per client.

OneDrive

Your OneDrive folders, wired into the books

Connect OneDrive once and the book gains a documents pipeline: journal workbooks drafted in OneDrive open right in Excel and import straight into the journal queue, and support files attach to the entries they prove. Google Drive support is coming soon.

Guardrail: Imported journals land in the queue as drafts - the post-lock keeps anything from reaching the general ledger until a person posts it.
